The Operations & Business Affairs Units provide the administrative infrastructure to sustain academic, research, clinical and community health excellence through partnerships with internal and external customers.
Our services are provided in a customer focused manner with an emphasis on ensuring compliance with regulatory and legal requirements; and in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
Walter L. Douglass, Jr. Executive Vice President for Operations and Business Affairs
ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞ School of Medicine (MSM) is proud to announce that Walter L. Douglas, Jr. has joined the institution as its Executive Vice President for Operations and Business Affairs. In his new role at MSM, Mr. Douglas is responsible for overseeing several departments including Public Safety, Information Technology, Facilities, and Institutional Projects.

Prior to joining MSM, Mr. Douglas served as the Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Neighborhood Health Services Corporation where he oversaw facilities, fundraising and development, planning and management, marketing and communications, human resources, risk management, and corporate compliance, government relations, public affairs, and community development. Prior to joining Neighborhood Health, Mr. Douglas served as the Chief Operating Officer for the RUTGERS – New Jersey Medical School. In this role he managed the Offices of Facilities, Planning, and Management; Information Services Technology; and Marketing and Communication.
A highly sought-after speaker and facilitator, Mr. Douglas routinely presents at national meetings on topics ranging from strategic planning, operations management, human resources, diversity, equity, and inclusion, marketing, leadership and professional development. With over 25 years of professional experience in complex organizations, Mr. Douglas is a mentor and coach to a diverse population of leaders and executives in the business community.
Mr. Douglas is a graduate of Rutgers University and has a Certificate in Finance from the Rutgers University School of Business.
